international students are required to obtain study permit i.e.  STUDENT VISA to study in SWEDEN. You can apply at a Swedish embassy or consulate in your country of origin or your country of domicile. The embassy or consulate sends your application to the Migration Board in Sweden, which takes permit decisions. You will be notified of the decision by the embassy or consulate to which you applied. The new visa fee schengen VISA will be INR 3400.The amount must be payable in New Delhi favoring ‘ Embassy of Sweden ‘(Demand Draft).

VISA Checklist

All applicants must submit:

1. A completed and signed application form for Schengen visa.

2. Proof of payment. Some categories are exempt from fee. Special rules apply for spouses of EU/EEA citizens and their children under 21. Please note that relatives and spouses of Swedish nationals must pay a fee to apply for a visa for visiting Sweden.

3. Passport, which must be valid for a period of three months after your last day of stay in the Schengen states. If you hold a temporary R.S.A. passport, please contact the embassy.

4. Two recent passport sized photographs in colour with light background.

5. Policy for travel insurance, which should cover medical costs of at least EUR 30,000 and be valid for the whole duration of stay and in all Schengen states.

6. Bank statements for the last three months (no older than two weeks at the time of submission), proving capacity to support yourself during your whole stay, if you are paying for your upkeep yourself.

7. Round-trip travel itinerary specifying entry and exit dates from the Schengen state.

8. A letter from your employer stating continuing employment after period of leave and duration of vacation.

9. The visa for the final country of destination (if needed) must be obtained before applying for a Schengen visa.

Please note that you may be required to appear before a Visa Officer at The Embassy of Sweden prior to a decision being taken on your application. The Visa Application Centre shall help you to take an appointment for the same.

Medical Examination:

All applicants, applying for a Swedish visa will be required to fill a Medical Insurance Undertaking form in addition to the visa application form.
All applicants while applying for a visa will be required to have overseas travel medical insurance valid for all schengen countries. The insurance has to cover the applicant at least for 30,000 Euros or equivalent for all risks, e.g. accident, illness, medical emergency evacuation, repatriation, etc. The policy has to clearly specify the period of validity and has to cover the entire duration of the trip including the date of arrival and departure.

Where To Apply
