Application Process

• Take the IELTS exam.
• Select the university and the course.

ENGLISH REQUIREMENT:

 

• IELTS minimum score of 6.5 for Postgraduate and 6.0 for Undergraduate Studies.
• TOEFL score of 237 for Postgraduate and 223 for Undergraduate Studies.
• Exemption is possible if student has scored above 70% in English language in the XII std. (English Medium) & if medium of instruction throughout school & college was English.

Rules and Regulations to work in UK:

 

• Students can work up to 20 hours a week during term time and full time during vacations.

• Students can earn around £5 – £7 per hour i.e. approx £400 – £560 per month (Rs. 33600 – Rs. 47040) during term.

• Students could look out for part-time jobs by looking in the local newspapers and job shops as well as the Universities and Colleges career cells where information is available about
vacancies. However please note that students are not guaranteed part time employment by the University.

• In case your job category is in the shortage list it is easier to get a work permit. Some important fields in the shortage list are Engineers, Biomedical, Teachers, Dietician, Community & Social Welfare workers, Nursing, IT, etc.

• If you are going to the UK as a student for six months or less, you must ask the Entry Clearance Officer for permission to work.

Steps for Application

1. Once decided with the course, download the application form (or) apply online.

2. Send the filled application form accompanied with certified copies of all relevant academic transcripts

IELTS scorecard
Attested photocopies of X, XII class certificates
B.Tech transcripts of provisional certificate & consolidated memo.
Recommendation letters (2).
Resume, SOPs.
Photographs (2)
Photocopy of PASSPORT (first 2 pages and the last page).

3. If the application is successful you receive an offer package containing

Conditional offer letter
**This process mostly takes 2-3 weeks for UG, 3-4 weeks for PG (course work) and 4 – 6 weeks for research work programs.
4. Fill the Acceptance letter, sign it and send the Tuition Fee (50% of the fee).

5. After paying the fee, International Office of the particular university will send you an unconditional offer letter & Fee payment receipt.
This is issued in 2 – 3 weeks by the University.

6. Then proceed with the VISA process.
Note: It is always advisable to start the application 4 months before the course commences for the sake the scholarships.

 Accommodation:

Both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students are guaranteed accommodation by many universities in their Halls of Residence, for at least their first year at the university provided they inform the university within the given deadlines.

On Campus: College hostels (self catered of fully catered)
Off Campus: Renting a flat / apartment
Homestay: With the Families near the institution.
